We had a lovely surprise in school today for lá glas - the ice cream van came and we all had delicious ice cream cones. In the afternoon, we had a céile with the other first classes. We had lots of fun!
World Book Day 2019
Today we brought in our favourite books from home. We had 30 minutes of DEAR time after lunch to celebrate World Book Day. After this, some of us gave oral reports about our favourite books.

Orchestra Visit 19/2/19
Today the Southampton Orchestra came to visit our school. They were amazing!! They played some of our favourite songs from The Greatest Showman. We loved it :)

Length - Maths 7/2/19
We went out to the yard today to measure the length and width of the yard using a trundle wheel and a metre stick.
St. Brigid’s Day 1/2/19
Today we celebrated the feast day of St. Brigid. We learned all about how she was a very kind and special person. We saw some lovely St. Brigid’s crosses and heard the story about how her cloak grew and grew. Later on we cut up different coloured pieces of felt and made a beautiful collage of her cloak.

Great effort put in by everyone for the Christmas doors this year. We went on a tour of the school to have a look. We think they are all brilliant!
Surprise Visitor 3/12/18
When we arrived in this morning there was a very special guest in our classroom. We named him Jack. He will be staying with us for the month of December to see how good we are and to report back to Santa. We hope he doesn't get up to too much mischief while he is with us!
Our Favourite Things - SPHE 23/11/18
This week we are talking about our favourite things in SPHE. We all brought our favourite/special object to school today. We talked about our favourite object and discussed why it is special with the class. Most of us brought in our favourite teddy so we had a teddy bear picnic at lunch.
Puzzle Power Champions 2018/2019
Our class won the Puzzle Power Champion title this year. We were presented with our prizes today at assembly. We received a Puzzle Power Champion certificate, a homework pass and a board game. We are so happy!!

Halloween Town 25/10/18
This week school was extra spooky. There were lots of skeletons, zombies, witches, spiders and ghosts in the classrooms and corridors. We put a lot of effort into our costumes. We wrote reports on bats and spooky stories. We made Halloween safety posters. We played games in Irish. We had lots of fun!
Team Teaching 19/10/18
Today was our last day of maths team teaching. We have learned lots of new things over the past 7 weeks and had great fun. Thanks to all the teachers who came into our class to help us!

Friendship Week 1/10/18
For Friendship Week our class made a great effort to be extra kind and inclusive. There was sharing, helping and lots of lovely activities whereby we got to know each other a little better. We all had a secret friend who we had to do something kind for. At assembly on Friday we sang the song "Count on Me" by Bruno Mars. We learned the poem "My Special Friend". Here are the friend ships we made for art.
Reading Buddies 28/9/18
Today we went to Ms. Hanlon's classroom to read with the children in 4th class. We brought our PM readers and picked a buddy to practice our reading with. It was very fun. We can't wait to go back next week!

We belong together - Religious Education 6/9/18
This week, we discussed what it means to belong. We made a Class Tree. We all made our own leaf for the tree by tracing around our hand, decorating it and cutting it out. We placed the leaves on the tree as a sign that we all belong together in the class. We learned the song "Together Again".
